Accessibility statement
We're committed to a website that works for everyone, including patients who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, screen magnifiers, or other assistive technology. Mental healthcare is for everyone, and so is access to it.
Our standard
This site is designed and built to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA (opens in a new tab). Where feasible we target Level AAA for body-text contrast and related details. Accessibility is treated as a feature requirement on every change we ship, not an afterthought.
What we’ve done
- Semantic HTML structure with proper landmarks, headings, and lists.
- Full keyboard support: every interactive element is reachable via Tab, with a visible focus ring. Menus support arrow-key navigation and Esc to close.
- A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the navigation.
- Color contrast verified against WCAG AA thresholds; color is never the sole indicator of state.
- Animation respects the operating system’s
prefers-reduced-motionsetting. - Phone numbers are tap-to-call links on every page.
- Form controls have visible labels and clear, programmatically associated error messages.
- Images have meaningful alt text; purely decorative imagery is hidden from assistive technology.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never “done.” We regularly audit the site with automated tools (Lighthouse, axe DevTools) and with manual keyboard and screen reader walkthroughs. When we find gaps, we prioritize fixing them.
Report a barrier
If anything on this site is hard to use with your assistive technology, or if you encounter content that isn’t accessible to you, please tell us so we can fix it. You can reach us by:
- Phone: (301) 710-4218 during office hours (Mon–Sat, 8:30 AM – 6 PM).
- In person at 3261 Old Washington Rd, Suite 2020, Waldorf, MD 20602.
If the website is preventing you from completing something you need (booking, paperwork, a portal task), call us and we will complete it with you directly. You should never have to fight a website to get care.
Third-party content
Some content on this site is delivered by third parties (embedded maps, video, the patient portal). We work to choose accessible vendors but cannot directly control their compliance. If a third-party tool isn’t working for you, let us know and we’ll provide the information another way.
This statement is a placeholder framework. The practice owner should review and customize it before going live, and update it as the site evolves.
